2026 IDC FinTech Rankings: Top Firms Grew Financial-Services Revenue 20% in 2025 – IDC – October 8, 2026
Firms on the 2026 IDC FinTech Rankings Top 100 grew their 2025 financial-services revenue almost 20% year over year, which is nearly double the 12% growth in overall IT spend, according to results announced today by IDC Financial Insights. Jacksonville, Florida-based FIS, IDC’s 1-ranked technology provider to the financial services industry, led a list in which the share of revenue coming from financial services jumped from 48% in 2024 to 60% in 2025, signaling deeper, more concentrated investment in the sector rather than broader participation across other industries.
Now in its the IDC FinTech Rankings is the industry’s most comprehensive global vendor ranking for the financial services industry, based on calendar year-end revenues and the percentage of revenue attributed to financial services.

Alongside the rankings, IDC’s Real Results program named this year’s winners of its case-study-based awards, which evaluate real-world technology projects across banking, insurance, and capital markets and recognize measurable, quantified business outcomes.
Financial institutions use both programs to track technology adoption and vendor participation in the industry; technology firms use them to prove where their investments are paying off.
How Fast the FinTech Market is Growing
Firms on the IDC FinTech Rankings Top 100 grew their 2025 financial-services revenue by almost 20% year over year, outpacing overall IT spend growth of 12%. That gap points to real consolidation of investment in the industry’s top firms, not just a rising market. The financial services share of 2025 revenue for firms on the list also rose from 48% in 2024 to 60% in 2025 further evidence that these providers are deepening their focus on the sector rather than diversifying away from it.
Microsoft led the firms on the IDC FinTech Enterprise 50 list (companies that draw less than one-third of revenue from financial services and/or serve multiple industries) which in aggregate grew their 2025 revenue by 12% over 2024, though their financial-services revenue share stayed essentially flat. The pattern is clear: firms built around financial services as a core market continue to pull ahead in share of technology spend.
AI Moves from Pilot to Proof: The 2026 Real Results Findings
Every project category evaluated in this year’s IDC Real Results program used AI in some form to deliver measurable business value. What stood out in 2026 was how fast generative and agentic AI moved into production, driving results in banking, payments, capital markets, and insurance alike. That’s an early signal that agentic AI is already producing measurable business outcomes which is a real edge for the institutions moving first.
“This year’s IDC FinTech Rankings and IDC Real Results programs have shown that the technology market in financial services is not only strong, it has also shown that the adoption of AI will be a major driver of continued growth over the next decade,” said Jerry Silva, program vice president at IDC Financial Insights.
